About us

We'll soon be opening the doors of De Hoppenaar - Poortwachtershuis, a new venue in Grave where conviviality and experience come together. With a carefully selected selection of local and international beers, delicious wines, snacks, and a charming interior, we aim to create a place where everyone immediately feels at home.

We've been open for over a year and a half with our tasting room in Arnhem, and we've had a craft beer shop in Arnhem for over four years. With our new location in Grave, we're expanding while maintaining that personal Hoppenaar atmosphere!

To make this adventure a success, we are looking for a driven and hospitable business manager who wants to help us put the Poortwachtershuis on the map.

What are you going to do?

As the manager, you are the face of the Poortwachtershuis. You combine hospitality with entrepreneurship and ensure that guests feel at home.

Your responsibilities:

• Building a new catering location
• Ensuring top service and guest satisfaction
• Drawing up schedules, orders and inventory management
• Thinking about events, (beer) tastings and collaborations with other parties

Who are you?

• You think it's great to set up this new location together with us
• You have experience in the hospitality industry, preferably as a manager or floor manager
• You come from (the region of) Grave and are familiar with the local catering industry
• You are a true beer lover with knowledge of (or curiosity about) specialty beers
• You are strong in organization, stress-resistant and have good communication skills.
• Knowledge of tap installations is an advantage, but not a must

Voor het nieuwe borrelcafé Poortwachtershuis in Grave zijn wij op zoek naar flexibele oproepkrachten die kunnen bijspringen op momenten wanneer het lekker druk is, zoals de zomermaanden, of tijdens evenementen.

Wat ga je doen?

Je helpt mee op drukke dagen en zorgt er samen met het team voor dat alles soepel blijft lopen. Denk aan bedienen, uitserveren, barwerk en het netjes houden van het café en terras. Geen dag is hetzelfde!

Wie zoeken wij?

• Je bent een paar dagen per maand beschikbaar, met name in de zomer
• Je kunt goed doorwerken en ziet het werk liggen, ook als het druk is
• Je bent enthousiast, sociaal en steekt graag de handen uit de mouwen
• Je vindt het leuk om (meer) ervaring op te doen in de horeca
• Horeca ervaring is fijn, maar geen vereiste
• Kennis van speciaalbier, wijnen en sterke dranken is een pré, maar geen vereiste
