About us - De Hoppenaar

De Hoppenaar opened in 2021 as a craft beer shop in the center of Arnhem. After many years of enjoying craft beers, we wanted to share them with other enthusiasts! A shop focused on more exclusive beers combined with (Belgian) classics was the result. How wonderful it is to turn your hobby into your job!

At the end of 2023, a new location was added. Just a 140-meter walk away, Proeflokaal De Hoppenaar opened. With no fewer than 16 beers on tap and over 400 different beers in bottles and cans, it's a fantastic addition to Arnhem's beer scene. The combination of shop and tasting room works perfectly, and it's fantastic to see how many people come to enjoy a great beer.

Our webshop also opened in 2025. It focuses on specialty beers from around the world and in every style imaginable. We strive to rotate our selection as quickly as possible to ensure freshness.

The selection is constantly changing. Dozens of new beers arrive every week, both in the shop and the tasting room. So every time you visit, there's something new to try. From the freshest IPAs to local beers and exclusive stouts, we strive to offer something delicious for every beer lover.
